Fort Worth sandbag pickup runs until 5 p.m. Wednesday; call ahead for supplies

Fort Worth's free sandbag distribution is scheduled through 5 p.m. CDT Wednesday, Sept. 30, at two locations. Before making the trip, call 817-392-6261 to confirm supplies are available.

The city lists pickup at 4100 Columbus Trail in Fort Worth and 309 Hillshire Drive in Haslet. Distribution began at 8 a.m.

Residents must bring proof of address. Each address can receive up to 15 sandbags, with distribution handled on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the city's Sept. 29 announcement.

The city announced the pickup ahead of this week's heavy rain. Its current flood-preparation page directs residents to avoid flooded roads and to check official weather updates.
