Early voting for the upcoming primary runoff election in Dallas County is scheduled to take place from May 16 through May 20. The polls will remain open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during this window. The general election day for the runoff is set for May 24, with winners advancing to the November 8 general election.

Dallas is located approximately 31 miles east of Fort Worth. Under Texas state law, voters who participated in the March 1 primary are required to vote in the runoff for that same political party. Individuals who did not vote in the initial primary are permitted to choose either the Republican or Democratic party ballot.

The ballot includes three statewide offices for Republicans and four for Democrats, alongside several local and county races. Statewide Republican contests feature incumbent Attorney General Ken Paxton against George P. Bush, and incumbent Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian against Sarah Stogner. Republican voters will also select a candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Commissioner of the General Land Office, and Comptroller of Public Accounts.

Democratic statewide races include Attorney General candidates Joe Jaworski and Rochelle Mercedes Garza, Comptroller candidates Janet T. Dudding and Angel Luis Vega, and General Land Office Commissioner candidates Sandragrace Martinez and Jay Kleberg. The Democratic Lieutenant Governor race features Michelle Beckley and Mike Collier.

Local candidates on the ballot for the Lake Highlands-Lakewood area of Dallas include James Harris and James Rodgers for U.S. House District 30 Republican, and Jasmine Crockett and Jane Hope Hamilton for the Democratic seat. Texas State Representative District 100 Democrats are Sandra Crenshaw and Venton C. Jones, while District 114 Democrats are Alexandra Guio and John Bryant. Antonio Swad and Justin Webb are running for U.S. House District 32 Republican.

Dallas County races include County Criminal Court No. 10 judge candidates Etta J. Mullin and Monique J. Bracey Huff, County Clerk candidates Ann Cruz and John F. Warren, and County Commissioner Precinct 2 candidates Andrew Sommerman and Michelle Ocker. Justice of the Peace races feature Atalia Garcia Williams and Margaret O’Brien for Precinct 2, and Juan Jasso and Desmond Cooks for Precinct 5.

Texas Secretary of State John Scott issued a news release encouraging voters to research the candidates who have reached the final round of their respective party primaries. He advised voters to visit www.votetexas.gov to prepare for the runoff elections.
