Tarrant County recorded a coronavirus positivity rate of approximately 11% as of Oct. 2, a figure that exceeds the state’s weekly average at that time. Public health officials continue to classify the level of community spread in the region as substantial. Keller, located about 13 miles north of Fort Worth, falls within this jurisdiction.

Tarrant County Public Health confirmed 354 new cases in a 24-hour period ending Oct. 6. Since tracking began in mid-March, the county has documented 52,720 total cases, 676 deaths, and 45,231 recoveries. Hospitalization data from Oct. 6 shows 355 lab-confirmed patients are currently admitted. The county reports 206 occupied ventilators and 560 available units.

Among North Tarrant ZIP codes, 76244 holds the highest total case count with 1,115 infections, resulting in a 30-day rate of 250 per 100,000 residents. ZIP code 76051 follows with 867 cases and a 30-day rate of 253 per 100,000. Other areas include 76248 with 701 cases and a 30-day rate of 279 per 100,000; 76092 with 526 cases; 76034 with 417 cases; 76262 with 323 cases; and 76177 with 279 cases.

In Roanoke, officials reported 121 total cases, with 94 patients having recovered. Denton County data from Oct. 5 indicates 44 beds occupied by coronavirus patients, alongside 70 occupied ventilators and 246 available units.

The state tracks positivity rates to account for testing volume variations. The state’s weekly positivity rate reached a peak of 24% on Aug. 11 before declining to near 7% by late September. This metric averages positive new cases against tests conducted over seven days. Gov. Greg Abbott has previously stated that a rate of 10% or higher warrants concern. Hospitalization numbers remain a key indicator for health experts monitoring the outbreak.
