DFW children's hospitals place among top Texas, regional rankings

Children's Medical Center Dallas and Cook Children's Medical Center ranked among Texas' five highest-rated children's hospitals.

Two North Texas children's hospitals placed among the five highest-ranked pediatric hospitals in Texas in U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings. The list also evaluated hospitals by region, state and medical specialty.

Children's Medical Center Dallas ranked second in Texas and second across the Southwest Region, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth ranked fifth statewide and sixth in the region.

Texas Children's Hospital in Houston held the top position in both the state and Southwest Region rankings. Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin ranked fourth in Texas, completing the state's top five.

Scottish Rite for Children received the nation's highest ranking in pediatric orthopedics in the specialty listings. U.S. News said its 20th anniversary edition recognized 90 children's hospitals across 34 states and Washington, D.C.
