Fort Worth families whose children need extra reading help may qualify for a $400 tutoring account through a new Texas Education Agency program.
Applications opened Sept. 17 for Parent Access to Supplemental Supports, or PASS. Eligibility covers current Texas public-school students who scored Did Not Meet Grade Level on the third-grade reading-language arts STAAR test, beginning with the spring 2026 exam.
Parents create an account in the PASS portal and apply for their child. Once approved, they can select an approved reading tutor, with online and in-person options available. The money is for tutoring services through the program.
PASS supplements the extra instruction schools must provide; it does not replace that support. Families can find application instructions and the portal link in TEA’s announcement.
