Fort Worth police arrested Cesar Palomo, 23, on capital murder of multiple persons charges following a shooting incident that left two people dead and two others wounded. The arrest occurred Sunday evening, hours after officers responded to the scene in southeast Fort Worth.
The disturbance began around 3:30 a.m. in the backyard of a residence located in the 4300 block of Martin Drive. According to police reports, officers arrived to find a man and woman who knew each other engaged in an argument. A second man stepped in to intervene, which led to a physical altercation between him and the first man.
The situation turned violent when both men drew handguns and exchanged gunfire. The man who had intervened and the original male participant were pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified one of the deceased as Jose Alejandro Valladolid, 24. The identity of the second victim has not been made public.
Palomo was among those shot during the incident and was transported to a hospital along with another wounded individual. His current condition remains unknown, as do the conditions of the other injured party. Palomo remained hospitalized on Monday while facing the capital murder charge.
