One Dead, Two Injured in I-35W Rollover Near Fort Worth

Police report that a driver died and two passengers were injured after a red Toyota rolled over a retaining wall on Interstate 35W late Friday night.

A fatal traffic collision occurred late Friday night near downtown Fort Worth, resulting in one death and two injuries. The incident took place on Interstate 35W around 11:10 p.m., according to police reports.

Responding officers found a red Toyota that had departed the roadway. Investigators stated the vehicle was traveling northbound and exited onto Spur 280 at an excessive speed. The car struck a retaining wall along the exit ramp.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll over the barrier. During the crash, the driver was ejected from the car. Emergency responders confirmed the driver died at the scene.

Two other people in the vehicle sustained injuries. Their current conditions were not detailed in the initial police report.

The Fort Worth Police Traffic Investigation Unit has opened an inquiry to determine the specific cause of the accident. Officials have not yet released the name of the deceased driver. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office will handle public identification after notifying the next of kin.
