FOX 4 PLUS plans to carry a weekly high school football broadcast during the 11-week Texas regular season, with six Fort Worth-area programs included in the announced slate.
The series, presented by Sonic, will air live on FOX 4 PLUS and through the FOX LOCAL app. Ten games are scheduled for Thursdays, and one is set for a Friday. The participating local-area teams listed so far are Arlington Bowie, Mansfield Timberview, Fort Worth Benbrook, Fort Worth Eastern Hills, Trophy Club Byron Nelson and Keller.
Arlington Bowie is part of the first scheduled broadcast, facing Prosper Rock Hill on Aug. 27 at Children's Health Stadium. The source reported that Bowie, coached by Joseph Sam, is pursuing a third straight district title. Mansfield Timberview is set for the Sept. 3 game against Denton Ryan at C.H. Collins Complex, with coach Jacody Coleman leading the Wolves.
Two Fort Worth ISD teams are scheduled for Oct. 1, when Fort Worth Benbrook and Fort Worth Eastern Hills meet at Herman Clark Stadium in a District 5-4A Division I game. On Oct. 8, Trophy Club Byron Nelson is scheduled to play Keller at Keller ISD Stadium in District 4-6A.
The source reported that Byron Nelson has been among the area's leading teams in recent years.
Other announced games include Melissa against Rockwall on Sept. 10 at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium, Allen against Prosper on Sept. 17 at Children's Health Stadium, Frisco Wakeland against Denton Guyer on Sept. 24 at C.H. Collins Complex, Highland Park against Carrollton Creekview on Oct. 15 at Standridge Stadium, and Parish Episcopal against Prestonwood on Oct. 23 at Lions Stadium.
The Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 games have not been announced.
