A man died and another was injured following a shooting incident at a Fort Worth residence on Saturday, according to police. Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of Misty Glen Court after reports of an altercation.
Authorities stated that a homeowner returned to his property and encountered another man there. A verbal confrontation ensued between the two individuals, which quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire.
The man who was on the property when the homeowner arrived was pronounced dead at the scene. The homeowner sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital. His current medical condition remains unknown.
Police revealed that the deceased individual had an active protective order against someone residing in the home. Fort Worth public information officer Buddy Calzada described the event as isolated, noting it involved two known individuals who should not have been on the premises due to the court order.
"It was between two known individuals (that) should not have even been on the property because of the court order that was signed off by a judge," Calzada said.
