Fort Worth residents can dispose of unwanted tires Saturday, Oct. 17, without signing up for the city’s neighborhood cleanup. The free collection is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon at Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods, 818 Missouri Ave.

The city lists passenger-vehicle tires, rubber tires from small equipment and rims among accepted items. Tires from businesses, commercial vehicles, 18-wheelers and tractors are excluded. The city prefers rims removed from tires. Tires and rims should be free of dirt, water, oil and paint.

Neighborhood Litter Stomp takes place the same day. Registered cleanup volunteers can collect supplies at the Business Assistance Center, 1150 South Fwy., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 14–15 or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 16.

The city’s event page has cleanup registration and the tire-collection rules. It does not require residents using the tire drop-off to volunteer for Litter Stomp.
