Fort Worth ISD begins the fall semester Tuesday, Aug. 11, the first day of the 2026-27 school year.
Finding your stop
The district publishes stop assignments through its online Route Finder, an InfoFinder search linked from the transportation department's page.
Special needs routes are not listed there. Families who need special needs transportation are asked to call the district at 817-815-7900 instead.
That same number reaches the district's Communication Center for any other bus question. The transportation department also takes email at Transportation@fwisd.org.
Tracking the bus
Fort Worth ISD uses the Stopfinder parent app, which gives real-time updates on where a bus is and sends a notification when a student badges on and badges off. Parents can choose which notifications they want to receive.
What the district asks of families
Three things the transportation department spells out for the morning routine:
- Have your student at the stop five minutes before the scheduled time.
- Students need to be physically seen and in plain sight so drivers can make a proper pickup.
- Posted stop times assume good weather. Rain, ice or traffic can push a route later than its listed time.
The district also publishes a bus rider safety guide for students and families, in English and Spanish.
