The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.2970, while the national average is $3.8470. Motorists in the Fort Worth-Arlington area are paying less than the state average and less than the national average.

Gas prices in the Fort Worth-Arlington area have fallen substantially from their highs. Prices have dropped about 55 cents over the past month, driven by lower crude oil costs and strong refinery output. Compared to a year ago, when the state average was $2.7670, drivers are now paying about 53 cents more per gallon.
