Private defense companies and the economic activity tied to them support an estimated 98,817 jobs in Tarrant County, according to a September study commissioned by the North Texas Commission.
The Perryman Group analysis estimates an annual gross-product contribution of about $12.8 billion in the county, the largest county share shown in the report. Across the broader North Texas region, the estimate totals about $35.3 billion and 264,603 jobs.
Those figures include direct employment plus indirect and induced effects. They are not a count of new jobs or announced hiring. The regional direct-employment estimate is about 100,000.
The study covers private-sector defense firms and excludes military-base impacts. Its annual dollar estimates are expressed in constant 2026 dollars.
