Bell Textron Inc. announced the delivery of its 700th Bell 505 helicopter during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026. The aircraft was handed over to a private VIP operator, marking a significant production milestone for the company. The delivery highlights the platform's growing presence in the corporate aviation sector.
Robin Wendling, managing director for Europe at Bell, stated that the company is honored to reach this production goal at the London-based event. She described the Bell 505 as a versatile multi-mission aircraft that continues to attract operators looking to expand their fleets. Wendling expressed anticipation for welcoming the new customer while acknowledging the global community of existing Bell 505 users across various mission segments.
Since its initial introduction in 2017, the Bell 505 has accumulated more than 390,000 flight hours. The aircraft is currently in service in over 55 countries across six continents. It is built on the proven Bell 206L-4 rotor and drive system, which provides a familiar handling experience for pilots while incorporating modern avionics and operational reliability features.
The helicopter serves as a primary training platform for military forces in Jordan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Albania, Montenegro, Indonesia, Iraq, and South Korea. Its open cabin design features stadium seating that allows students to observe operations from any seat, creating an effective training environment. The surrounding glass cockpit provides optimal visibility for operational tasks.
