On a day that belonged to Dak Prescott's record, Brandon Aubrey delivered a memorable kick of his own at AT&T Stadium.
In the fourth quarter, with Dallas leading the Washington Commanders 27-13, Aubrey lined up from 60 yards and put it through. The kick stretched the lead to 30-13 and capped a perfect day for the Cowboys' kicker, who made field goals from 25, 44 and 60 yards and all four extra points for 13 points in a 37-20 win.
The victory, in front of 93,188 fans in Arlington, evened Dallas at 1-1.
Prescott passes Romo
The headline belonged to Prescott. He threw four touchdown passes, and the last, a 24-yard catch by CeeDee Lamb late in the fourth quarter, was the 249th of his career, breaking Tony Romo's franchise record of 248, according to The Associated Press.
Prescott completed 26 passes for 279 yards without an interception. Lamb caught two of the touchdowns and finished with 153 yards. Tight end Jake Ferguson caught the other two.
"That made me emotional," Prescott said after his teammates celebrated the record, the AP reported.
The swing
The game tilted early in the third quarter. Rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham forced a fumble on a Washington screen pass, Dee Winters recovered inside the Washington 20, and Ferguson scored two plays later to make it 27-13.
