Dallas-Fort Worth manufacturers are projected to need more than 31,000 additional employees over an 18–42-month period, according to the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center.

The University of Texas at Arlington published the estimate Sept. 30. Known as TMAC, the center operates within the university’s research institute in Fort Worth.

The figure describes anticipated workforce demand across the region. It is not a count of positions currently advertised, and the university’s release does not provide a separate total for Fort Worth.
