Construction is underway on the first building in the industrial section of Walsh, the master-planned community on Fort Worth's far west side.

Hamilton Development, a Nashville, Tennessee, company, is building a warehouse of about 1 million square feet with 6,000 square feet of office space, valued at $57.7 million, the Fort Worth Report reported. A state filing cited by the Report shows work began Oct. 15, with completion expected in the third quarter of 2027.

It is the company's first project in Texas.

Where it sits

Hamilton bought 60 acres in Walsh for the building, off Bentley Bridge Drive and Interstate 20. The site is part of a 2,500-acre piece of the development set aside for office and industrial uses, in an area Walsh's developers call Walsh Industrial.

The building has been leased, but Hamilton has not said who the tenant is. It is the first of two buildings planned to be finished in the industrial park, according to the Report.

What the developers said

Ryan Dickerson, CEO of Walsh Companies, said in a news release that the development team has spent years planning an industrial park south of I-20 that will eventually hold more than 20 million square feet of industrial space, and called the Hamilton project the start of that park.

Whitfield Hamilton, CEO of Hamilton Development, described it in the release as a fast-track project and said the company was pleased to work with the Walsh family on the site.

Neither company released a construction schedule for the second building or said how many jobs the warehouse will hold.
