McDonald's has registered plans with the state for new restaurants at several Fort Worth locations, according to records on file with the state's Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the agency that reviews building projects for accessibility.

The Fort Worth Report, which first reported the filings on Thursday, counted at least 12 new McDonald's restaurants planned across the Fort Worth area at an estimated combined cost of about $17.3 million.

The Fort Worth sites

The state records list these projects, each with an estimated cost of $1.5 million. Start and finish dates in the filings are the applicant's estimates.

  • 4533 Marine Creek Parkway: a new 4,555-square-foot restaurant, registered Oct. 13. The filing lists McDonald's USA LLC as owner and a construction window of Nov. 16 to April 5, 2027.
  • Northwest corner of Diamondback Lane at Sendera Ranch Boulevard: a building of the same size, also registered Oct. 13, with work listed for Jan. 1 to June 1, 2028.
  • Southwest corner of East Berry Street at Loop 820: a 4,319-square-foot restaurant. The state's plan review is complete, and the filing lists an Oct. 1 start and a Feb. 28, 2027 finish.
  • McPherson and Brewer boulevards: a 3,817-square-foot restaurant whose filing, also through plan review, originally listed construction from Oct. 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.

A separate $750,000 project would finish out a 2,784-square-foot McDonald's space at Gate A15 in Terminal A at DFW International Airport, according to its filing.

Around the region

The Fort Worth Report also listed planned restaurants in Haslet, Justin, Arlington, Mansfield, Burleson, Crowley and Granbury, along with drive-thru upgrades at an existing Grapevine McDonald's on East Highway 114. Plano, Frisco, Dallas, Princeton and Little Elm are among other cities where the outlet said new locations are planned.

In Plano, a state filing registered Oct. 12 lists a new restaurant at 14th Street and La Paz Drive.

According to the filings cited by the Report, most new North Texas locations are estimated at about $1.5 million each and smaller ones at about $750,000. The Report tied the building push to a company initiative it valued at $8.5 billion, aimed at winning back customers as McDonald's faces rising costs and a shrinking share of the market.
