A giving circle formed by Latina leaders in North Texas has now distributed more than $1 million to local nonprofits, and two Tarrant County groups are on its 2026 grant list.

The DFW Hispanic 100 Latina Giving Circle, which operates at Texas Women's Foundation, has awarded $1,022,200 through 217 grants since it began in 2019, according to an announcement from the organization published by the Fort Worth Report. This year's round totaled $136,200 spread across 22 grants. Individual grant amounts were not listed.

Tarrant County recipients

  • Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, Fort Worth: college and career readiness programming for young women at North Side High School.
  • Parents Step Ahead, Colleyville: its Families Forward Initiative, a family engagement and wellness program.

Most of the other 2026 recipients are based in Dallas, with others in Farmers Branch, Garland and Denton. Their programs range from family literacy and English classes to preschool scholarships, microloans for small businesses and mental health services.

The milestone

The parent organization, DFW Hispanic 100, was founded in 1996 as the Hispanic 50 and marked its 30th anniversary with an awards gala on Sept. 23 at the Arts District Mansion, the announcement said. About 350 people attended.

Sylvia Sotelo Kidd, the group's 2026 president, tied the milestone to its goal of pooling the resources of Latina leaders.

Information on joining or donating to the circle is posted on the Texas Women's Foundation website.
