TEXRail has recorded 1 million rides in 2026, reaching that annual mark for the first time since service began, Trinity Metro announced Sept. 30.

The milestone comes ahead of an Oct. 29 groundbreaking for an extension from Fort Worth T&P Station into the Near Southside and Medical District. The agency plans a new station serving that area; the announcement does not give an opening date.

TEXRail’s existing 27-mile route runs daily between downtown Fort Worth and DFW Airport Terminal B, with stops in North Richland Hills and Grapevine. Riders can connect to DART’s Silver Line at DFW Airport North or Terminal B.

The agency says the line has carried more than 4.8 million rides since its January 2019 launch. The new annual milestone counts trips on the service, rather than establishing that 1 million different people used it.
