C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans remain separated by roughly $10 million in contract talks as the quarterback enters the 2026 season. Stroud is seeking a deal worth $60 million per year, while Houston has offered $50 million for now.
The Texans have exercised Stroud’s fifth-year option, keeping him under contract through the 2027 season. Houston has said an extension likely would be pushed to the next offseason if an agreement is not reached before Week 1.
