P.J. Locke will spend at least four weeks on injured reserve after the Cowboys designated him for return with a foot injury. Locke was hurt in last week’s game against the Washington Commanders, but Dallas initially waited before placing him on the list.
The move comes as the Cowboys prepare to play the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro. Safety Malik Hooker remains unavailable with a fractured forearm, while Jalen Thompson and Caleb Downs are expected to remain among the available starters at the position. Markquese Bell and Alijah Clark also remain on the safety group.
Dallas also added linebacker Barron to its 53-player roster after he appeared in the previous game as a temporary elevation from the practice squad. His addition provides another option with DeMarvion Overshown set to miss another game because of a hamstring injury. Jaishawn Barham and Dee Winters were both dealing with injuries last week but completed that game.
Cornerback Reddy Steward was elevated from the practice squad for the Ravens matchup. Cobie Durant, a starting cornerback, is out with a hamstring injury suffered in the win over Washington. Steward played significant snaps for Dallas in 2025, including work as a nickel cornerback and occasional safety, according to the team.
Locke, Hooker, Durant and Overshown were among four Cowboys who did not practice on Sept. 23. Outside linebacker James Houston, who had a shoulder injury, participated fully. The team also reported that Locke, Durant and Barham were hurt against Washington, while Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said the team had been affected by several injuries.
