Marcel Reed will remain Texas A&M's starting quarterback for now, coach Mike Elko said after the Aggies fell 35-6 to No. 10 LSU. Texas A&M entered the game ranked No. 23. Asked if Reed could be benched, Elko replied, "No." TexAgs shared the exchange on X, and Yahoo Sports reported it.
Reed completed 10 of 26 attempts for 106 yards and had one interception against LSU. The 38.4% completion mark was identified in the report as possibly the lowest of his college career. Across four games this season, he has 738 passing yards, six touchdown passes and four interceptions. His completion percentage is 55.4%, a career-low, and he has run for 104 yards and one touchdown.
Reed's previous season included 3,169 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Texas A&M is set to face Arkansas in Week 5. The Razorbacks also are 2-2, with that game scheduled for Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. EST.
