Henry To'oTo'o will be out for an undetermined period after injuring his shoulder during the Texans' season-opening loss to Buffalo, coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. ESPN reported that Houston has not decided whether to place the starting linebacker on injured reserve.
The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter, with 2:34 remaining, when To'oTo'o tackled Bills tight end Dawson Knox. He required help standing, went to the sideline and did not return.
Houston fell to Buffalo, 36-31. The Bills' point total was the second-highest allowed by a Texans team coached by Ryans, behind the 37 points Tampa Bay scored in 2023. It was also Houston's first game allowing more than 30 points since a 31-point performance by Baltimore in a Christmas matchup in 2024.
The Texans' next three opponents are Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Dallas. Houston will host the Bengals, visit the Colts and then play the Cowboys at home. Each team ranked among the NFL's top 12 in scoring last season, according to the source.
