The Dallas Cowboys will be without four defensive players for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil, but two starters could return for the team’s next game against the Houston Texans.
Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and cornerback Cobie Durant were ruled out of the Ravens matchup. The group includes three defensive starters, while Locke serves as a reserve safety for Dallas.
None of the four players practiced during the week or traveled to Brazil. The absences come against a Baltimore offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, and running back Derrick Henry, a former NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said the team has not ruled out Overshown or Hooker for the Week 4 meeting with Houston, according to an update reported by Heavy.com. Overshown is dealing with a hamstring injury, and Hooker is recovering from a forearm injury.
The report said Durant and Locke are not expected to be ready for the Texans game. Overshown and Hooker have not been cleared to return, so their availability for that matchup is not yet clear.
