Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is listed as doubtful for the team's Week 3 matchup with Louisiana Tech after an ankle sprain kept him out of the Bears' previous game.
Lagway suffered the injury during Baylor's season-opening loss to Auburn and did not play in the team's victory over FCS opponent Prairie View A&M. Coach Dave Aranda said Lagway took part in a Monday walkthrough and would be assessed based on his practice work during the week.
The final injury report listed Lagway as doubtful. The report did not make clear whether he would be available in an emergency against Louisiana Tech.
On3's Pete Nakos reported that Baylor hopes to have Lagway back for its Big 12 opener against Colorado next Saturday. The source did not indicate that Lagway has been ruled out for the Louisiana Tech game.
Junior Nate Bennett is expected to start at quarterback if Lagway cannot play. Bennett completed 26 of 34 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns against Prairie View, adding 13 rushing yards and another score. He also threw two interceptions in his first college start.
