Baylor coach Dave Aranda said Monday that quarterback DJ Lagway and several other injured players are expected to return for Saturday’s game against the Colorado Buffaloes.
Aranda said Lagway has received approval to resume playing. He also listed Jadon Porter, Devin Turner and Logan Moore among the players expected back for Baylor.
Lagway previously said he expected to be available when conference play began. Baylor’s matchup with Colorado marks the start of that portion of the schedule.
The quarterback’s ability to move normally remains unclear after he suffered what initial reports described as a high-ankle sprain on the opening drive of Week 1. He did not attempt another run during that game.
Aranda said Lagway’s ankle appeared to be at roughly 60% to 70% before Baylor’s game against Louisiana Tech, but the quarterback had improved since then. Aranda also said the available indications suggested offensive coordinator Jake Spavital would have the team’s full set of play-calling options, though Baylor had not yet practiced when he spoke.
