The Dallas Cowboys have ruled out four defensive players for their Week 3 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil: cornerback Cobie Durant, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.
None of the four participated in either of Dallas’ first two practices of the week. They are also not expected to make the trip to Rio de Janeiro for the game.
Durant, who joined the Cowboys this offseason after four seasons with the Rams, started Dallas’ first two games and logged 87 defensive snaps. He injured his hamstring during the team’s victory over Washington last Sunday and had already been expected to miss multiple games.
Hooker sustained a forearm fracture in the season opener against the Giants. He started that game but left after playing 12 snaps. Locke then started against Washington and played 31 defensive snaps before suffering a torn plantar fascia in his foot.
Overshown is set to miss his second straight game because of a hamstring strain from the opener against New York. He started that contest and made seven tackles before exiting. Jaishawn Barham is expected to continue filling a larger role at linebacker, while second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is expected to see more action with Durant unavailable.
