Bullard’s absence comes after he missed most of training camp while dealing with an earlier injury. Thompson could join safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve, with a possible designation to return, according to the report.
Shavon Revel received the most favorable update among the players hurt against Baltimore. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday, “Shavon is actually doing pretty good.” Revel is dealing with issues involving his knee and ankle, but Schottenheimer said he is expected to return to practice this week. The report said Revel could have a chance to play when Dallas visits Houston in Week 4.
Cornerback Cobie Durant is not expected to travel to South Texas while continuing rehabilitation for a hamstring injury. Malik Hooker, who suffered a fractured forearm in the season opener, may need additional time before returning to game action.
DeMarvion Overshown, who has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, could resume practicing this week. The injuries have left the safety group short-handed, prompting the Cowboys to work out players including former Dallas safety Juanyeh Thomas.
