The Dallas Cowboys have signed receiver Ryan Flournoy and tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford to contract extensions worth up to a combined $24 million, giving both players new deals before the breakouts the team anticipates.
Flournoy agreed to a one-year extension worth up to $6 million. The contract keeps him with Dallas through the 2027 season. He is coming off a 2025 season with 40 receptions, 475 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and the source reports that he is expected to take on a larger role as the team’s third receiver.
The receiver’s deal also provides continuity if George Pickens departs after the current season, according to the report. Flournoy can play each of the three receiver positions commonly used in the Cowboys’ three-receiver formations.
Spann-Ford signed a three-year extension valued at up to $18 million, including $12.075 million guaranteed. The agreement keeps him under contract through 2029. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and had been expected to receive a restricted free-agent tender during the offseason.
Spann-Ford was competing with Luke Schoonmaker for playing time behind Jake Ferguson last season, and his training-camp development raised expectations for additional progress. The deals represent a change from the Cowboys’ previous practice of extending players after they had already established themselves, including Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland.
