The Baylor Bears football team is experiencing considerable changes on their offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season. With only one full-time starter, Kaden Sieracki at right tackle, the team faces uncertainty in this critical position.
The Bears had hoped to rely on Memphis transfer Yakiri Walker as a veteran center, but he is no longer with the team after his injunction was denied and is now serving as a coach. This development has led to further adjustments within the offensive line, with Koltin Sieracki emerging as a key player at the center position.
Offensive line coach Austin Woods has noted that Koltin Sieracki has been taking a significant number of snaps at center and is expected to start when Baylor faces Auburn. Woods stated, "Right now, Koltin Sieracki, he stepped up and he's been getting a lot of reps with the guys over the summer."
Koltin Sieracki, who stands 6'4" and weighs 317 pounds, was previously the sixth lineman for Baylor, starting three games last season in both right guard and center. Initially anticipated to play guard this season, he has shifted his focus to center following Walker's departure. Sieracki expressed his preference for the center position, stating, "I actually prefer center.
I think it's more of a natural position for me."
The offensive line's configuration is still being determined, with Sieracki mentioning that Texas transfer Nate Kibble and South Alabama transfer Asher Hale have been playing alongside him at guard.
