Angela Stanford has joined TCU as an assistant coach for the university's women's golf team, returning to the program where she established several records as a player.
Stanford competed for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000 and was named a TCU All-American four times. She remains the only four-time All-American in program history and holds the school record with 10 victories.
TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said, "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Angela Stanford back home to TCU as our third coach." The coach also cited Stanford's experience as a major champion and her leadership of the U.S. Solheim Cup team.
Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth. Her hiring came after her recent role as U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. Further details about her responsibilities with the team were not provided.
