Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is set to return against Colorado as the Bears and Buffaloes open Big 12 Conference play Saturday at McLane Stadium in Waco. The game is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central time and will air on ESPN2.
Lagway has not played since Baylor’s season opener because of an ankle injury. Coach Dave Aranda said earlier in the week that the quarterback had received medical clearance to return. Nate Bennett, who started the past two games, will move back to the backup role.
Bennett completed 75% of his passes during those starts, totaling 567 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He also ran for 15 yards and two touchdowns.
Baylor will also have wide receiver Jadon Porter, defensive back Devin Turner and defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler available. Porter and Turner had been listed as probable, while Wheeler was upgraded from questionable later in the week.
The Bears listed five players as unavailable: safety Jacob Redding, cornerback Jamarion Richardson, defensive lineman Devonte Tezino, offensive lineman Cayden Tone and wide receiver Ashton Jones.
