The Star-Telegram is asking readers to identify the standout athlete from Fort Worth-area high school football games during Week 3. The publication has compiled statistics from MaxPreps and its own reporting to highlight top performances across the region.

Voting for the weekly award remains open until 3 p.m. on Friday. Participants can review the detailed game stats for each nominee before casting their selection for the best player of the week.

Eligibility for these weekly honors requires that a team’s statistics be submitted to the Star-Telegram and uploaded by coaches to MaxPreps. Athletes whose teams failed to provide this data are not considered for the award. Questions regarding eligibility or nominations can be directed to high school sports editor Charles Baggarly at cbaggarly@star-telegram.com.

The poll follows previous weekly winners from earlier in the season. Holt Frazier of Brock High School was named the Week 1 recipient, recording 232 passing yards with a 72.7 percent completion rate and three touchdowns.

Caden Tolbert of Trinity Valley took the Week 2 title, throwing for 349 yards on 85.7 percent accuracy with four touchdown passes while also rushing for 89 yards and a score.

Fans who observe exceptional play during Week 4 are encouraged to submit nominations for the next award cycle. Nominations should be sent directly to the Star-Telegram via email.
