Texas Wesleyan University has announced that it has enrolled its largest group of first-year students in its history for the second year in a row. This development is part of a two-year period during which the institution's total student population has grown by 15 percent.
The Fort Worth-based university welcomed 511 new students this fall, exceeding the previous record set last year. With this addition, the total enrollment figure now reaches 2,955 students. This number places the university near its highest overall enrollment level in more than 14 years.
University officials cited several factors for the growth, including investments in student support services and the expansion of academic programming. They also pointed to the university's new Igniting Impact strategic plan as a contributing element.
President Emily Messer stated in a release that the achievement reflects growing confidence in the university's mission and the experiences provided to students. She noted that the milestone is about more than just numerical increases.
The institution offers over 40 areas of study through in-person, online, and hybrid formats. Recent academic additions include a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Artificial Intelligence and an enhanced Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences program. The university also plans to introduce a Master of Science in Business Project Management in the Artificial Intelligence Economy in fall 2027.
