Fort Worth is in the final stages of setting up for its Fourth of July festival at Panther Island Pavilion. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, with gates opening at 5 p.m. for live music, food, and family activities. Crews have been working to install pyrotechnics and water the grassy areas along the Trinity River to prevent fires.
Organizers expect attendance to exceed last year’s figure of more than 80,000 people. Matt Oliver of the Tarrant Regional Water District noted that the combination of the World Cup and the nation’s 250th anniversary may contribute to a busier day. The celebration falls on a Saturday, which allows more residents to attend compared to years when the holiday lands on a weekday.
Other North Texas communities are also hosting their own Independence Day events, including parades and drone shows. Details for other local celebrations are available through regional event listings.
