Fort Worth Police Department officers responded to a deadly shooting early Saturday morning in the northern section of the city. The call for service was received around 3:30 a.m., directing responders to a home located on the 8300 block of Riverside Drive.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a man inside the residence who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Firefighters from Fort Worth Fire arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The identity of the deceased individual has not been released to the public as of this report.
Police noted that another man was present inside the home at the time of the response. Officers reported that this second individual surrendered with his hands raised and was detained without further incident. Investigators have established that both men knew each other, and homicide detectives are currently interviewing the detained person.
