Tarrant County’s MHMR will receive $4,081,000 over two years to expand maternal-health support, including family navigation and nurse visits, according to a City of Fort Worth announcement published by TCU’s Burnett School of Medicine.

The Texas Health and Human Services award will support MHMR’s role in the North Texas Maternal Health Accelerator, a regional partnership working to reduce severe pregnancy and childbirth complications. MHMR is one of three organizations selected statewide, the announcement says.

The funding builds on MHMR programs including Help Me Grow and Help Me Thrive of North Texas. A new enrollment date and application process for the expansion have not been announced.

The accelerator grew out of a Tarrant County coalition convened in September 2022. Its partners include TCU’s medical school, UT Southwestern, the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation, MHMR and the Child Poverty Action Lab.
