The fourth week of the Texas high school football season has brought notable shifts in the Fort Worth-area rankings across multiple classifications. The updates cover Class 6A, Class 5A, Class 4A, and private schools.
In Class 6A, the top position remains unchanged despite a defeat for No. 2 Southlake Carroll. The rankings do not penalize teams for facing difficult non-district opponents, such as Allen, which is viewed as a contender for the state title.
No. 3 Aledo maintained its standing after delivering what was described as its most complete performance to date. Meanwhile, Keller Central and Mansfield Lake Ridge each advanced one spot in the polls. Euless Trinity dropped out of the top four after falling to Aledo in a competitive game, though the Trojans could return to that tier with wins during district play.
Arlington climbed one position after L.D. Bell disappeared from the rankings. The most significant movement came from Keller, which made its first appearance in the polls at No. 10. The Indians have started the season 3-0 and are leading the area with an average of 50.3 points per game. Arlington Lamar was also evaluated for the tenth spot but did not secure it.
Class 5A saw only one change, as Chisholm Trail moved up to No. 10. The Rangers secured the rise by defeating Arlington Seguin, a consistent team in the classification. Seguin fell out of the rankings after starting the season with three losses.
