Fort Worth ISD’s fall assessments point to stronger projected STAAR performance, with the largest gains in elementary mathematics, according to results the district released Oct. 1.

In grades 3–5 math, the share projected to meet grade level or above rose from 28.3% last fall to 44.0% this fall. Projected performance improved in all nine reported subject-and-grade groups. The district recorded 124,750 assessments and 96.3% participation during August testing.

The figures are projections for the spring exam, not final STAAR results. District officials cautioned that most students were still not projected to reach grade level. A district news summary also noted a decline in the early grades without providing figures.

Both years used the same 2025 national norms. The next MAP Growth assessment is scheduled for January.

Families can find their student’s MAP Growth Family Report in the Focus Parent Portal, the district said. Reports are also available in Spanish beginning this fall.
