Fort Worth ISD’s board will discuss proposed five-year student achievement goals at its Tuesday, October 13 meeting. The agenda lists the goals and related superintendent guardrails for a first reading.

One proposed goal would raise the share of third graders scoring at or above the STAAR reading grade-level standard from 42% in July 2026 to 62% in July 2031. The figures describe a proposed target, not an improvement already achieved.

The consent agenda also includes a proposed extension of the district’s Trinity Metro student transit program. If approved, the agreement would continue free local bus and TEXRail passes through July 31, 2028. District and pass-program enrollment would be required; high-school students are the program’s primary audience. The service supplements district school buses.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the District Service Center, 7060 Camp Bowie Boulevard. The agenda schedules the open session to reconvene at 6 p.m. after a closed session.

The district has posted the meeting notice and agenda packet for residents to review.
