Four scores for Overmyer

Four touchdown receptions by Patrick Overmyer carried Houston to a 35-16 victory over Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Overmyer caught eight passes for 83 yards, with each of his four receptions for touchdowns coming from Conner Weigman.

Weigman completed 19 of 30 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns for Houston. The visiting Cougars scored on all four of their touchdowns through the air to Overmyer, while Makhi Hughes added a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter. Re'Shaun Sanford II led Houston with 20 carries for 90 yards.

Houston builds its lead

Houston opened the scoring in the first period when Weigman connected with Overmyer on a 1-yard pass, followed by Jonathan Dimas' kick. Kansas State answered with Luis Rodriguez's 29-yard field goal, leaving the score 7-3 after the first quarter.

The Cougars extended the margin in the second period. Overmyer caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Weigman, and Hughes followed with his 13-yard run. Dimas made both kicks, giving Houston a 21-3 halftime lead. The quarter scores were Houston 7, 14, 14 and 0, and Kansas State 3, 0, 6 and 7.

Overmyer caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Weigman in the third period for a 28-3 Houston lead. Kansas State then got a 13-yard touchdown pass from Avery Johnson to Garrett Oakley, but the two-point pass conversion failed. Weigman and Overmyer connected again, this time on a 2-yard touchdown pass, to make it 35-9 entering the fourth quarter.

Kansas State finishes with a touchdown

Kansas State's final score came in the fourth period, when Johnson passed 6 yards to Jaron Tibbs. Rodriguez kicked the extra point for the 35-16 final.

Johnson finished 16 of 30 passing for 182 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Rodney Fields Jr. led the Wildcats with 14 carries for 46 yards, while Oakley had three receptions for 49 yards and one touchdown. Attendance at Bill Snyder Family Stadium was 51,569.

Houston moved to 5-1, while Kansas State is 3-2.
