Kyle Schwarber provided the decisive offensive punch for the Philadelphia Phillies with a powerful home run that shifted the momentum in their favor. Schwarber’s homer cleared the right-field fence, measuring 408 feet. It was a four-run shot that turned a tied game into an eight-run advantage for the home team. The swing marked his 44th home run of the season, adding to his growing tally for the year.
Early Scoring and Pitching Struggles
The game’s momentum began to tilt in the third inning when Houston took an early lead. Alvarez doubled to center field, bringing Smith home to make it 1-0. Paredes followed with a home run to left-center, extending the Astros’ advantage to 3-0. Diaz then singled to bring Altuve home, pushing the score to 4-0.
However, the Phillies quickly responded in the same inning. Turner’s single scored Realmuto, making it 4-1. Harper’s single resulted in two more runs due to errors, narrowing the gap to 4-3 before Arraez singled to score Harper and tie the game at 4-4.
Houston regained the lead in the fourth inning when Smith homered to center field, a 416-foot shot that also scored Varsho, making it 6-4. Turner answered for Philadelphia with a solo home run to right-center in the fifth, bringing the score to 6-5.
