Texas Health Resources placed second on Fortune's 2026 list of the Best Workplaces in Health Care, the Arlington-based system announced Oct. 13. It was the highest ranking for any North Texas hospital system and the 12th year in a row Texas Health has made the national list.
The ranking draws on surveys of roughly 222,000 workers at health care companies certified by Great Place To Work, which compiles the list with Fortune.
"At Texas Health, our people are the foundation of everything we do," CEO Winjie Miao said in the announcement. "When our team members feel valued, supported and empowered, they provide the exceptional care our communities deserve."
Chief People Officer Carla Dawson credited employees for the system's standing with patients. "Our employees are the reason Texas Health is the trusted choice for more North Texans than any other health system," she said.
What employees get
The system pointed to benefits including wellness programs, a 401(k) with a company match, free use of the Headspace mental health app and up to eight counseling sessions a year per issue through its Employee Assistance Program. It also offers leadership training, mentoring, continuing education, and student loan repayment or tuition help for approved degrees.
New parents can take up to six weeks of paid leave, and adoptive parents can be reimbursed up to $10,000. Workers also get one extra flex day off each year and a paid day to volunteer with North Texas nonprofits.
