Fort Worth’s updated Consumer Health fee schedule took effect Thursday, Oct. 1, setting annual permit charges for food businesses, child-care facilities, pools and hotels, alongside separate plan-review fees.
Child-care charges vary by licensed capacity. The annual base fee is $440 for facilities licensed for 12–99 children, $480 for 100–174 and $520 for 175 or more. Each tier adds $5 per employee. Before- and after-school care is listed separately at $400 plus $5 per employee.
For comparison, the city’s posted schedule effective Sept. 1, 2025, listed child-care facilities at $385 plus $5 per employee. The new schedule lists $773 for each pool, spa or public interactive water feature, plus $5 per employee. Hotel and motel permits are $773.
Food-establishment permits are listed at $258, $515 or $773 annually. Temporary-event permits covering up to 14 days cost $52 per booth.
Plan-review charges for food establishments, child care and bed-and-breakfasts range from $175 for spaces up to 150 square feet to $525 for 20,001 square feet or more.
